5 में से 4.0 स्टार One Year with IPhone SE......
25 मार्च 2019 को भारत में समीक्षा की गयी

This is my one year experience with iPhone SE. The phone is really price worthy and it looks attractive. The main advantage I have seen in this, it is really fit in my hand and we won’t feel any uncomfortable to keep this in our hand. The performance and the camera of this phone is really impressive. But the only one thing I have noticed, the camera doesn’t work well in low light especially at night. We will be getting a noise images. Other than this is really awesome phone to have it. Here are some of the images I have taken with my SE.

Putting in my review after using the iPhone SE for around 3 weeks.

Off the bat, it is an Apple..!
So we bought two of these phones in a span of seven days (Rose Gold and Silver). After using them for almost 3 weeks, there is nothing much to complain about, just that it is a perfect phone for someone who wants a small form factor (where even 4.7") seem large and clunky.

Let me break up the review in smaller portions:

Delivery and Unboxing:
As promised the phone was delivered the "next - day", it was well insulated and the Apple white box was shrink wrapped, brand new. The phone was absolutely mint condition inside, and had the usual accessories of: SIM ejection tool, charger+cable, wired headphones, some paper work, and of course the phone. Also some huge Apple branded stickers. Welcome to the ecosystem, I guess.

Bootup and Initial Impressions:
The phone literally reeks (pardon the French) of being premium and high-end. The phone is cold to the touch, and it is smooth and luxurious in feel. What is surprising (or actually shocking) is the form factor. I guess we all have been blasted with mammoth sized large screens -- so a native (or vanilla) 4" screen seems small and diminutive. This is a phone you can carry in your tight fit jeans, and hardly feel the presence when you sit down. That is the size and dimension. The phone is thin in nature and grips easily in ones palm, even if you have small hands. The phone seemed to be a bit slippery to me, due to the high grade metal used (I guess), so a cover of some sort adds better grip. The ivory white adds a lovely contrast to the silver (or rose gold) body chassis of the phone. It just brings a smile to your face -- wow, they still manufacture goodness like this..! You just want to look at the phone for prolonged periods and get a feel good feeling.!

The phone boots up fast and asks for a SIM. Once this is inside you have to input some configuration setting (which can be done later), and you hit the desktop. The silver one came with OS10 OOB, but the Rose gold came with OS11 latest patch OOB. Both phones had bluetooth on for some reason. Maybe some Apple setting.

User Experience and Performance:
The A9 power mill is snappy and fast. I was quite surprised to see this from a unit which is 2+ years in the legacy cycle. The screen changes are extremely fluid, and multiple applications can be opened with no: lag in throughput, crashing, hanging, and erroneous behavior. You immediately realize why an Apple is not a fruit, but a well designed amalgamation of software and hardware. Almost perfect. The OS behaves in such a manner, that you will think that the hardware actually has the software embedded inside it (like a firmware) and is operating directly without intermediate RAM or mounting services. Well docked to the hardware, highly responsive, and quite apparent that the OS is tailored just for Apple hardware. The touch ID works fast and there is minimal lag. If your finger is slightly moist or dirty, then it does not work too well. Hopping between applications and navigating back/forth to the desktop is seamless, fluid, and user friendly. [No force touch here]

For the first time Apple user, the OS takes a while to get used to. There are minimal "long press" functions, all settings have to be triaged too (read you have to open one setting, and then keep moving forward till you reach your setting), or simply put use the 'search'. This was quite different for me, coming from a Windows 10 phone. Honestly, till now (maybe it will take a while to get used to), I find the OS a bit less intuitive, but not obtrusive -- if you know what I mean. The functions will not scream into your face, but are subtle and well embedded into the UIX. Gestures (the left / right long sweep) have a small learning curve. Many will disconnect the call first few times (I did) forgetting, that a swipe, answers..! The auto back light functions senses the ambient light well, and adjusts on-the-fly.

The proof is in the pudding and for a smart phone this is the screen. The SE comes with an only 4" real estate front end. That is what it will seem like, when you read it on paper. Once this device is in your hand the true beauty of a small, ergonomically designed, efficiently utilized and optimized work space is made apparent. 4 columns x 6 rows are packed into 4", with space between each application. The layout does not feel cluttered or jam-packed at all, matter of fact it seems thought off and well ordered. This phone definitely instills a sense of neatness and discipline. Period. Clean desktop, purely functional and a joy to operate. The touch responsiveness is snappy, and images (pictures) render crisp and bright. Multimedia experience is rich (depends on the native source) and true for entertainment. The smallness of the screen dawns on the user, when they are typing, and the keyboard floats up from the bottom. One wonders, how in the world will you type fast on such small buttons. It is possible, and takes a couple of hours to get used to. You can set the font size to smaller than what comes OOB, this will make readability (more content will show on one screen) easier and comfortable. The spell-check is cruel, so be wary when typing another language using English letters.!

Battery:
Till date our two SE phones have not exhibited any extraordinary heating during charge and/or making long calls. There is a slight warmth, which most electronic devices posses when powered. You will easily get around 24-26H of use time, which involve some calls, bit of multimedia usage, and unlimited WA, SMS, browsing non rich content (like text and blogs). A full charge takes around 2.5H. Incidentally I removed the gMail application from my phone, and am now getting a whooping 48-50H of standby time, with the same usage described above. Never knew gMail was polling so much. I do have my office mail installed on the iPhone mail client, though. This utterly makes me happy, that I charge my phone once in two days.

Camera and Application:
Clubbing these two aspects because they are purely user driven in terms of satisfaction. Both camera's do a decent job (remember this is an entry phone to the Apple world) -- so please do not expect ultra high definition images or videos. I have nothing to complain from the camera. It face detects well, contrast is good, and colors are dynamic, contours are soft.

The App Store is one strong USP of the Apple ecosystem, and one has to explore. Though most of the freemium applications have annoying advertisements, which urge (or push) you to make the purchase. A payment gateway binding insures seamless purchase though. Go ahead, float your boat.!

In summary, this is an excellent phone.

Go for it if:
1. You are on a budget for an Apple phone.
2. New to the Apple world (and believe me it is huge).
3. Will not compare how much more screen space you can get for <insert iPhone SE price here>.
4. Want a small form factor phone, which is easy to carry, maintain, and handle.
5. Want to indulge in luxury and premium.

Thanks for reading..!

वेरिफ़ाई की गई खरीद

Buying experience was smooth over amazon, phone was delivered in one day as part of 30 day prime trial. Phone is genuine, I checked its serial number after activation process on apple’s website and its warranty displayed was one year as per purchase date. So nothing to worry about fraud deal.

Now the review on iPhone SE 32GB (iOS 10.3.2) itself after using it for a week:
First of all this is my first iphone and my review is from android user’s perspective.
The iPhone SE model you get is A1723 (supports GSM/CDMA/LTE bands of almost all countries). If you want a phone that has a small form factor (easily fits in pocket), lightweight and superb multitasking performance and long battery life (for me it is 2 days) and it should work in all your international travels then at this price point of Rs.22k this phone is your only option, literally.

Pros:
1) Design: Of course it looks beautiful so I won’t spend much time there, but on other side even at 113gm the phone feels very solid to hold and has a very strong grip but you never know so better get a case/cover. The slide switch for ring/silence is a very nice idea sometimes there are situations where you want to quickly turn off sounds without looking at the phone.
2) Performance: Amazing multitasking response, I have used android phones with snapdragon 800 series processor with 3GB RAM and stock android and still it couldn’t compete with faster load times of iphone se. After using the iphone over a week there are 34 apps in the background and each one of them loads in fraction of a second but for the same scenario in android it would take 1-2 seconds and on 2GB models it’s even more. I do not play games, so cannot comment on gaming performance.
3) Battery life: With full (which takes around 1.5 hours) charge I am getting 2 days of battery life, my usecase is youtube HD videos, web browsing over WiFi/LTE, phone calls, email, chat, music. iOS doesn’t report screen on time separately, it only reports usage time and standby time.
4) Camera: Rear camera is very fast to both load the camera app and processing after taking picture. Live photo feature is also very nice. Front facing camera although only 1.2MP takes surprisingly
good pictures for profile pictures.
5) Voice call quality, WiFi connectivity time and GPS navigation accuracy is excellent.

Now this is where all the pros ends for me, iOS also has many innovative features but I felt it is dry and too basic in front of android.

Cons:
1) Capacity: Apple advertises that you get 32GB of storage but that is a deception. Their 32GB is in decimal system. When you store files, capacity is measured in binary system so the equivalent binary storage capacity is 29.8GB (GiB) this is raw capacity then after formatting whats left is 28.4GB (which is displayed in settings) then they will install their iOS and built-in apps and I got 23GB capacity out of the box. I was surprised to see this after first turning on the phone, I was expecting at least 27-28GB out of 32GB as per their tiny terms and conditions on their website. So basically avoid 16GB model. I think Apple should clearly mention what would be the user capacity for the given storage model.
2) Touch ID/Home Button: Sometimes the fingerprint sensor just doesn’t work and will unlock only after passcode, also you have to press the button (not tap) for home screen and double press for background apps and you can also triple press to use camera as a magnifier. This press needs some pressure, I didn’t liked it at all after used to the android way for many years, the location of the home button also makes it inconvenient especially when switching across multiple apps.
3) Maps: I use navigation a lot and came to learn after using this phone that native iOS maps do not support navigation for India, so you need to install Google maps or something else for directions/navigation.
4) Keyboard: Native iOS keyboard doesn’t support glide typing and it is not easy to type fast on a 4inch screen without glide. So again you will end up with Google gboard or something else.
5) Bluetooth: Another shocker you cannot transfer files/music using Bluetooth between android and iphone. I think Apple wants to lock us down into their device ecosystem. You will need third party apps to transfer files from/to android.
6) iTunes: To copy music, books, pdf and movies also I guess from your computer to iphone you have to go through the process of iTunes desktop app, which is very counter intuitive and boring as a android user. Fortunately for photos/videos you take with camera is directly transferable without installing iTunes in windows.
7) iCloud: Only 5GB cloud storage is provided free while with google drive we get 15GB. But again you will need third party app to sync outside iCloud.

In general if I compare native iOS apps like calendar, imessage, maps, keyboard, clock, etc with corresponding google apps, I find that google apps are more flexible, lots of productive features and visually appealing especially with the new material design. So now I am using google apps on iOS since these responds much faster on iOS than android :) But on cautionary note: as you add and use more third party apps performance begins to degrade.
If you do buy this phone then I suggest to download iOS user guide and keep referring to native Tips app, it will teach you lots of tricks, shortcuts and the right way of doing things in iOS.

Thanks for reading till here.
